Presbytery Coordinator
Overview
This page is for the presbytery leader or designated coordinator guiding the Collective Vision Toolkit process. Your role is to introduce the process, send materials to church liaisons, collect responses, follow up with churches, and help the council review what is submitted.
Why this Toolkit Exists:
Church planting can feel overwhelming, especially when a presbytery is unsure where to begin. This toolkit is meant to provide a practical starting point.
ECO genuinely believes that each local church has what it needs to pursue the mission God has given it. At the same time, presbyteries play a unique role in helping churches listen to one another, identify shared priorities, and coordinate mission across a region.
The Design
This process is designed to help presbyteries:
Church Participation
Participation is voluntary throughout the process. Some churches may feel called to lead, others to support financially or relationally, and others simply to learn more. The goal is not uniformity, but shared clarity and collaborative mission.
As churches respond, the presbytery gathers those insights and reflects back emerging themes, opportunities, and commitments. The result is a clearer picture of where God may be leading the presbytery and a practical framework for moving forward together.
Getting Started – Laying the Groundwork
Goal: Prepare presbytery leaders and participating churches for the discernment process.
Locations
In this phase presbytery leaders start identifying strategic places for church planting (cities, towns, neighborhoods, rural areas etc.)
Involvement
This phase involves the presbytery discernment about how churches want to participate.
Shared Priorities
In this phase, presbytery leaders will aim to establish realistic shared goals.
